Kevin Donovan,
Collaborator
(He/Him)

Kevin Donovan is successful fundraising consultant, following previous professional stops that include a long career at Delta Air Lines and sports marketing roles with agencies specializing in marketing activation and bid development for the hosting of the Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup.

Kevin is a former board member and current Chair of the Leadership Advisory Council Chair of L.E.A.D., a non-profit organization focused on empowering Atlanta’s inner-city at-risk youth to be tomorrow’s leaders through a comprehensive program of education, athletics, and community service. His long relationship with L.E.A.D. began in 2010 and he served on the board from 2014 to 2021 and on their Executive Committee from 2017 to 2021. Among his volunteer activities, he has contributed his skills and experience in support of L.E.A.D.’s brand positioning, sponsor procurement, strategic development and marketing activities.

An avid writer, Kevin has written two novels, several screenplays, and numerous essays, most recently focused on the social and political challenges of our time. His past production has included speech writing for the famous and the infamous – from Tiger Woods to Vladimir Putin (explanation available upon request).

A former NCAA athlete, Kevin continues to be active in sports; he is a runner and he plays on a softball team that includes teammates with whom he’s played for over 30 years. His travels with Delta and as a sports marketing consultant have taken him to 25 countries, 48 of our 50 states and ten Olympic Games, including serving in a sponsorship management role for Delta for Atlanta’s 1996 Olympic Games.

Kevin believes that the issues of racial and gender equality are the biggest problems in the world for the simple reason that we can’t solve all of our other problems until we unleash the full potential of all people and remove the barriers to their success. A graduate of Bucknell University, a self-admitted news junkie and an Atlanta-area resident for 30 years with roots in New York, Kevin lives with his wife of 15 years, Heidi, and their insufferably cute rescue dog, Bella, in Decatur, Georgia
