Doris Duke Foundation
The Performing Arts Technologies Lab is both a grant and a support system designed to expand access to and nurture new methods for creating, sharing and experiencing the performing arts. The Doris Duke Foundation (DDF) is looking for innovative ideas in jazz, contemporary dance and theater that make use of new digital tools and production methods.
Selected projects will proceed through a series of development phases, beginning with the articulation of a basic concept and culminating, for some proposals, in a fully funded implementation. Support will combine financial resources with technical assistance. Participants will be expected to participate in a series of virtual and in-person meetings that will be programmed to facilitate shared learning and exchange.

The Shubert Foundation
Application deadlines: October 18, 2023, for Dance, Arts Related, and Shubert Scholars applications, and December 5, 2023, for Theatre applications. The minimum grant amount is $15,000.
The Shubert Foundation is dedicated to sustaining and advancing the live performing arts in the United States. Support is primarily provided for nonprofit, professional theatres, with a secondary focus on nonprofit, professional dance companies. The Foundation is especially interested in theatre and dance companies that develop and produce new American work. A limited number of grants are also made in the program areas of Arts Related Organizations and Shubert Scholars. The Foundation exclusively provides general operating support. U.S. nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, a record of artistic activity, a record of developing and producing new work, and a demonstrated commitment to underserved audiences or underrepresented voices are eligible to apply.
Venturous Theater Fund
The goal of our Venturous Capital Grants program is to support writers of bold, experimental, and/or large-scale new plays by giving not-for-profit theaters the ability to say “yes” instead of “no” to writer-driven projects perceived as especially challenging. We do this by funding specific extraordinary costs that are integral to those plays’ production, and which might otherwise make them difficult or impossible to produce.
Actors' Equity Foundation
The Actors' Equity Foundation seeks to support the professional theatre community in the United States, from emerging artists to seasoned vets, while promoting and investing in the theatre and the performing arts. The Foundation's Theatre Grants provide support to nonprofit theatres nationwide that have current 501(c)(3) tax exempt status, an established artistic and administrative track record, a history of fiscal responsibility, and have worked to improve the state of the theatre. The application deadline is November 30, annually. The online application is available on the Actors' Equity Foundation website.
