Peoples Bank Foundation

The Americana Foundation’s Early American Art and Heritage Projects

The Americana Foundation’s American Heritage program area supports projects and programs throughout the United States that seek to broaden the inclusivity of early American art and the early American historical narrative to “tell the full story of” the American experience. The Foundation seeks to support organizations and projects that elevate those whose perspectives have been traditionally underrepresented, especially people of color, Indigenous people, and women. Examples of eligible projects include interpretation or reinterpretation of art, decorative arts, or other objects of early American material culture (“Americana”) and their placement on public display for the appreciation and understanding of present and future generations; internships, fellowships, apprenticeships, and other career development opportunities for people interested in the curation, conservation, preservation, or restoration of Americana; and exhibits, visual media, interactive experiences, and other educational programs that contribute to better understanding or “tell the full story” of the American experience.

Grant amount: Typically $10,000 to $25,000

Concept letters and grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed quarterly.

South Arts Cross-Sector Impact Grants

These grants of up to $15,000 support "Arts &..." projects developed by partners—one arts organization or artist, and one non-arts organization—harnessing the power of collaboration.

The next application cycle opens June 17, 2024.

The following is a top-level list of the main eligibility requirements necessary to be considered for a Cross-Sector Impact Grant. Please refer to the full list of eligibility requirements in the program's Guidelines.

  • Two partners are required (one from the arts sector and one from the non-arts sector) – both partners must be located/reside in South Arts’ nine-state region (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee)

  • A minimum of one of the two partners must be a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, an official unit of local, county, or state government (including an institution of higher education), or a federally recognized tribal community that has a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number

  • Provide a 1:2 match

Wilhelm Family Foundation

Geographic scope: National, but with emphasis on California


The Wilhelm Family Foundation supports nonprofit arts organizations with the goal of helping improve the quality of life of artists and creative communities nationwide. While applications are welcome from across the U.S., the majority of grants support organizations in California. The Foundation’s mission is to help expand artists’ access to resources by supporting organizations working to make creative expression, experimentation, public programming, and discourse accessible to all people, artists and non-artists alike. Grantmaking focuses on nonprofit arts organizations of all types and sizes, with an interest in organizations and programming that prioritize diversity, inclusiveness, community, and freedom of speech. Organizations that utilize art and programming to engage diverse, marginalized, at-risk, or underserved communities of all kinds are of particular interest. Generally, the Foundation’s grants are given to small nonprofit organizations that use their staff, programming, and resources to further dialog around creativity, cultural issues, and environmental and social justice issues, towards the benefit of artists as well as the communities in which they operate.

Doris Duke Foundation

The Performing Arts Technologies Lab is both a grant and a support system designed to expand access to and nurture new methods for creating, sharing and experiencing the performing arts. The Doris Duke Foundation (DDF) is looking for innovative ideas in jazz, contemporary dance and theater that make use of new digital tools and production methods.

Selected projects will proceed through a series of development phases, beginning with the articulation of a basic concept and culminating, for some proposals, in a fully funded implementation. Support will combine financial resources with technical assistance. Participants will be expected to participate in a series of virtual and in-person meetings that will be programmed to facilitate shared learning and exchange.

Humanities DC Capacity Building Grant

The Capacity Building Grants fund capacity building projects that help humanities-focused nonprofit organizations advance their mission and serve DC’s communities.

Applicants will propose distinct capacity building projects, such as identifying a communications strategy, improving volunteer recruitment, ensuring thoughtful leadership succession, updating a nonprofit’s technology, or improving how it measures its outcomes, that will build the capacity of their organization to effectively deliver its mission.

Eligibility: non-profit organizations with a humanities-focused mission and annual budgets of less than $2 million

Award Amount: Up to $25,000

Race Forward and Americans for the Arts are seeking proposals for: Cultural Week of Action on Race and Democracy (CWA)

The first annual Cultural Week of Action on Race and Democracy (CWA) will take place September 27 to October 5, 2024. Race Forward and Americans for the Art are excited to sponsor select projects to encourage deep, bold, and long-term change. Through a competitive process, 12-15 local communities that represent the diversity of our country will receive $25,000-$40,000 for cultural organizers and community partners to design and implement projects that align with the theme of Building the Bigger We. This is an opportunity to deepen commitments to racial justice and inclusive democracy through cultural activities.

Participation in the CWA will also be encouraged and open to organizations not requesting funding.

TD Charitable Foundation: Regional Grants

Application deadline: Applications are accepted on a bimonthly basis; upcoming deadlines are December 22, 2023, and February 16, 2024.

Geographic scope: Communities TD Bank serves

Grant amount: The minimum amount is $5,000.

The TD Charitable Foundation provides support to nonprofit organizations to improve the quality of life in the communities TD Bank serves, which include specific counties of CT, DE, DC, FL, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, NC, PA, RI, SC, VT, and VA. The Foundation primarily funds programs aligned to one or more of the following areas: better health, with a focus on research, technology, and innovative solutions that improve access to care for all; connected communities, with a focus on increasing access to the opportunities people need to participate and feel a sense of belonging in their community, including arts and culture; financial security, including early learning, income stability, financial literacy, and affordable housing; and vibrant planet, including clean economic growth that supports the transition to a low-carbon economy and activating green spaces.

Special consideration will be given to organizations delivering programs that support diverse and historically underserved communities and to programs that support low- to moderate-income individuals with services that improve the quality of life.

ArtsHERE

New Initiative Aims to Boost Arts Participation for Underserved Groups

Geographic scope: United States, including U.S. territories

Grant amount: Grants ranging from $65,000 to $130,000 each will be awarded to approximately 95 organizations.

ArtsHERE, a new grantmaking initiative from the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with South Arts and in collaboration with the five other U.S. Regional Arts Organizations, supports increased opportunities for arts participation in the United States.

ArtsHERE will invest in a range of projects from organizations throughout arts and cultural ecosystems that have demonstrated a commitment to equity within their practices and programming and undertaken consistent engagement with underserved groups and communities. Examples of commitment to equity include programming reflective of the community served, planning activities that are inclusive of diverse voices, and having undertaken consistent engagement with underserved groups and communities that have rich and inspiring artistic and cultural contributions to share.

Grants will be provided for specific projects to strengthen each organization’s capacity to sustain meaningful community engagement and increase arts participation for underserved groups and communities. In addition, grantees have access to peer learning and technical assistance opportunities.

Fulton County Arts & Culture (FCAC) is pleased to announce funding opportunities for the 2024 Contracts for Services (CFS) funding cycle. NALAC Fund for the Arts

Geographic scope: United States, including Puerto Rico

Grant amount: $10,000

The National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) is dedicated to the Latino arts field in the United States. The NALAC Fund for the Arts supports U.S. and Puerto Rico-based Latino artists and arts organizations in the development, creation, presentation, and sustainability of artistic excellence. $10,000 awards are available for Latino artists and organizations of all disciplines.

The Organization grant program supports organizations whose primary mission is focused on Latino arts and culture in any arts discipline. Both project-based support and general operating support are provided. Artist Grants support Latinx artists, ensembles, and cultural workers whose work demonstrates excellence and the potential to impact the Latino arts field.

Amphion Foundation

Geographic scope: U.S. and internationally

Grant amount: Generally $1,000 to $7,500

The Amphion Foundation aims to encourage the performance of contemporary concert music, particularly by American composers, through support to performing, presenting, and music service organizations.

The fall application cycle is open to presenters and music service organizations, including music service/advocacy organizations, professional development/training programs, artist residency programs, libraries and archives, radio and TV, presenters, and festivals. (The Foundation’s spring grant cycle supports performing organizations.)

General operating support is available for organizations with a history of substantial commitment to contemporary American concert music and plans to continue that commitment, while project support is available for exceptionally important activities relating to contemporary concert music that are out of the scope of an organization’s regular programming. Applicants must have 501(c)(3) nonprofit status (or the foreign equivalent) or have a fiscal sponsorship, and have two or more years of performance or program history as an organization.

The City of Atlanta – Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs

The City of Atlanta – Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs’ Contracts for Arts Services program (CAS) is now accepting proposal submissions for the FY ’24 Grant Cycle. CAS is the City’s program for granting public funding to individual arts and cultural activities. Eligible artists interested in these funding opportunities have until 11:59 PM on Friday, September 8, 2023, to apply for funding.

Applications will be accepted in two categories:

  • Artist Project and

  • Emerging Artist Award

First-time applicants interested in submitting a proposal for CAS funding must attend one of three virtual workshops covering the submission process. The virtual workshops will be held on August 15 at 10:00 AM, August 24 at 2:00 PM, and August 31, 2023, at 4:00 PM via Microsoft Teams.

Venturous Theater Fund

The goal of our Venturous Capital Grants program is to support writers of bold, experimental, and/or large-scale new plays by giving not-for-profit theaters the ability to say “yes” instead of “no” to writer-driven projects perceived as especially challenging. We do this by funding specific extraordinary costs that are integral to those plays’ production, and which might otherwise make them difficult or impossible to produce.

Rolling - U.S. Bank Foundation's Community Possible Grant Program

U.S. Bank Foundation's Community Possible Grant Program provides support to nonprofit organizations in the 26 states served by U.S. Bank. Grants are provided in the following categories: 1) play, with a focus on access to artistic and cultural enrichment, learning through play, and preserving, protecting, and enhancing outdoor places to play; 2) work, with a focus on small business and workforce development, pathways to higher education, and financial literacy; and 3) home, with a focus on safe, affordable, energy efficient housing and home ownership education. Priority is given to organizations serving low- and moderate-income communities, women, and people of color as well as organizations led by people of color. Georgia Council for the Arts Arts Education Program

The FY23 Arts Education Program Grant funds school and community arts education programs that serve Georgia's K-12 students between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024. Grant awards range from $1,500-$8,000.

GCA will host an online training workshop for the FY24 Arts Education Program Grant on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 1:00 PM. During the workshop, GCA staff will review the requirements for the grant application, along with tips for submitting a successful proposal. Participants in the online training workshop must register here in advance. For those unable to participate in the online workshop, a recording of the webinar will be available on the GCA website.

The deadline for FY24 Arts Education Program Grant applications is Friday, March 3, 2023, at 11:59 PM.

South Arts Call for Grant Panelists

South Arts is looking for leaders in the presenting field from our nine-state region to serve as panelists for our grant program. Our panels will take place in April. Panels will be comprised of several panelists who have proven experience and expertise in at least one of the major arts disciplines (music, dance, theater, poetry, fiction literature, creative nonfiction literature, animation, documentary film, experimental film, fictional film, crafts, drawing, experimental visual art, mixed media, painting, photography and sculpture).

Panels will be held in a web-based format (via phone and computer). Panelists are not expected to travel; however, each panelist must be able to commit to a brief orientation/training session, independent review and evaluation of applications, and two hours of panel discussion. Panelists will receive an honorarium.

Traditional Arts Touring Grants increase the public awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the traditional arts in the South. These grants support in-person or live virtual residencies by Southern traditional artists in Southern communities. Georgia Council for the Arts Bridge, Bridge Renewal, and Project Grant

In an attempt to streamline the application process for returning applicants, organizations that received a Bridge Grant in FY23 will complete a Bridge Grant Renewal application for FY24. GCA will send details to returning applicants via email.

GCA will offer the Bridge Grant again in FY24. Nonprofit arts organizations that receive the grant will be able to use the funds for eligible operating expenses.

FY24 Project Grants will support single arts projects, as well as capacity building and virtual arts programs, that take place between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024. Grant awards range from $1,000 to $8,000.

Fulton County Arts Council NEW DEADLINE

The Fulton County Department of Arts & Culture today announced a deadline extension for the 2023 Contracts for Services (CFS) arts funding cycle. The new application deadline is Monday, January 16, 2023.

 

Each year, Fulton County invests in non-profit organizations to ensure that Fulton County citizens enjoy a wide array of rich arts experiences. Funding awards ranging from $1,000 to $50,000 are available for Fulton County based artists, non-profit arts, organizations, non-profit cultural institutions, colleges and universities, schools, municipalities, and community based non-profit organizations in the form of essential project support.

Eligible applicants are encouraged to apply for these service contracts, which are designed to support arts programming taking place January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023.

The Contracts for Services (CFS) Program provides unrestricted general operating and project support to nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations, arts & culture organizations, cultural institutions, colleges, and universities, as well as units of government that produce or present ongoing arts programming open to the public. Contractors present programs that reflect Fulton County's cultural diversity, and capture the imagination of adults, families, and youth, invigorate neighborhood growth, support economic development, and provides jobs.

All application components are due Monday, January 16, 2023 via WebGrants by 11:59 p.m.

Applications must be completed and submitted through the WebGrants system: http://fulton.dullestech.net.  

Deadlines for completed applications and final reports will be strictly enforced.  Interested applicants are encouraged to review the program guidelines at www.fultonarts.org and contact CFS staff to verify eligibility. The Public Humanities Projects program supports initiatives that bring the ideas of the humanities to life for general audiences through public programming. Projects must engage humanities scholarship to analyze significant themes in disciplines such as history, literature, ethics, and art history.
